Laurus Labs Q1 Results: Stock jumps after margins cross 30%, other parameters beat


Shares of Laurus Labs Ltd. recovered from the lows of the day to trade with gains on Friday, July 24, after the company reported strong results for the June quarter, which were higher on a year-on-year basis across parameters.

Laurus Labs reported revenue of ₹2,026 crore for the quarter, which is 29% higher than the previous year’s figure of ₹1,570 crore.

Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation and Amortisation (EBITDA) for the quarter increased by 67% on a year-on-year basis to ₹638.3 crore from ₹382.1 crore.

EBITDA margin for the quarter expanded by over seven percentage points to 31.5% from 24.3% on a year-on-year basis. The margins are the highest in many years for the company aided by a favourable product mix and operating leverage.

Gross margins for the quarter have improved to 62.7% at the end of the June quarter from 59.4% last year and 61.4% in the March quarter.

Here’s how Laurus Labs’ various business segments fared during the quarter:

Laurus Labs’ CDMO business revenue grew by 67% on a year-on-year basis and 48% sequentially to ₹870 crore. The company attributed the growth to steady progression of late-stage clinical projects and commercial API supplies. The company also said that it has an expanding pipeline with over 125 active projects.

It is also advancing the commercial scale peptides block based on customer demand, Laurus stated in its investor presentation.

The Affordable Medicines business saw revenue growth of 10% during the quarter to ₹1,156 crore. However, the figure was 5% lower on a sequential basis as it reported a figure of ₹1,223 crore in the March quarter.

Laurus stated that the division has a healthy order book, steady ARV and established volume growth which drove the 10% growth. It added that global supply chain challenges persist for this business.

The company is ramping up product registration in the Emerging Markets. To strengthen its business opportunity, it has also opened an office in South Africa.

Shares of Laurus Labs are trading 1.7% higher after the results announcement at ₹1,596.4. The stock is up 44% so far in 2026.
