LG Electronics India Q1 Results: Profit jumps 27% as margin expands

LG Electronics India gets GST relief as ₹117 crore tax, penalty demand dropped

LG Electronics India reported a strong June quarter on Thursday, with profit, revenue and operating margins all improving from a year earlier as demand across its consumer business remained firm.

Net profit rose 27.2% year on year to ₹652.8 crore from ₹513.2 crore, while revenue increased 15.5% to ₹7,233.3 crore from ₹6,262.9 crore.

Operating performance improved as well. EBITDA climbed 26.2% to ₹904.2 crore, compared with ₹716.2 crore a year earlier, while EBITDA margin expanded to 12.5% from 11.4%.

The company is also seeing strong momentum in air-conditioners, with demand helping shape a more positive outlook for the year.

LG Electronics India crossed 1 million air-conditioner sales in the first quarter of calendar year 2026 and is targeting more than 2 million units for the full year, Sanjay Chitkara, Director and Co-Chief Sales and Marketing Officer at the company, told CNBC-TV18.

Chitkara said channel inventory has normalised, while retail partners are preparing for the festival season in the second half of the year. If current demand trends continue, the company could outperform its financial year guidance, he said.

The company is also looking to increase exports and broaden its presence across categories, including televisions, refrigerators and washing machines. The stronger AC demand comes as the company enters the second half of the year, traditionally an important period for consumer electronics sales. With channel inventory now normalised and retailers preparing for the festive season, management is expecting demand momentum to remain supportive.

LG Electronics India is a wholly owned subsidiary of LG Electronics and manufactures and markets consumer electronics, home appliances, IT products and vehicle solutions in India.
