The National Testing Agency (NTA) has cancelled the NEET-UG 2026 examination conducted on May 3 following allegations of a paper leak and other exam-related irregularities. The decision was taken with the approval of the central government after investigative agencies shared inputs raising concerns about the integrity of the examination process.Following the cancellation, lakhs of NEET aspirants across the country are now waiting for clarity on one key question- when will the NEET UG 2026 re-exam be conducted?So far, NTA has not announced the fresh NEET UG 2026 exam date. The agency has only said that the revised schedule will be notified separately through official channels.Students have been advised to regularly check the NTA NEET official website for official updates regarding the re-examination, admit cards and examination centres.The uncertainty around the fresh exam date has triggered anxiety among candidates and parents, especially those preparing for counselling, admissions and repeat attempts.

Will students have to register again for NEET UG 2026?

NTA has clarified that candidates will not have to submit a fresh application form for the NEET UG 2026 re-exam.Existing registrations, examination city choices and submitted application forms will remain valid. The agency has also said that students will not have to pay any additional fee for appearing in the re-test.While registrations will remain unchanged, NTA will release new admit cards for the re-exam after the revised schedule is finalised.The agency is also expected to announce details related to city intimation slips, exam centres and reporting guidelines closer to the fresh examination date.

As discussions around possible re-exam dates continue online, NTA has not officially confirmed any tentative schedule so far.Students are being advised not to rely on rumours, unofficial notices or social media claims regarding the NEET UG 2026 re-examination.
