Nifty Top Losers: Why Nestle India, Max Healthcare, HDFC Life, Tata Motors and IndiGo Fell – Markets

Max Healthcare Institute’s shares were the second biggest during the week, trailing Nestle India. The stock price of the hospital stock fell as much as 4.2 per cent in the past week. The fall in the pharma and healthcare sector came after the Supreme Court of India expressed concerns over the 30% trade margin cap on cancer drugs, questioning why similar controls are not applied to other medicines and medical devices. The government’s decision to limit the trade margin cap to cancer drugs follows earlier concerns over a ten-fold difference between the price at which a cancer drug is supplied to a retailer and its MRP.
