The Gurugram-based insurance platform said the annual policy is designed for frequent travellers and offers coverage across multiple journeys during the year, including travel by flights, trains, buses and road transport, through a single policy.
Unlike single-trip insurance products, the annual plan eliminates the need for travellers to purchase separate coverage for every journey.
Manas Kapoor, Head of Travel Insurance at Policybazaar, said domestic travel in India has become more frequent across work, leisure and family-related journeys, increasing the relevance of travel protection within the country.
“Domestic journeys today are more frequent than ever, whether for work, family or leisure, and can be equally prone to risks,” Kapoor said.
According to the company, the policy includes personal accident cover of up to ₹3 lakh, hospitalisation coverage of up to ₹1 lakh during travel, compensation for loss of checked-in baggage and support for trip cancellations arising from unexpected changes in travel plans.
The plan also extends coverage to select home-related risks, including burglary while the policyholder is away.
The launch comes at a time when domestic travel demand remains resilient amid geopolitical uncertainty linked to the West Asia conflict and rising outbound travel costs, with hospitality companies reporting continued interest in leisure, spiritual and short-haul travel within India.
The annual domestic travel insurance policy is available at a starting premium of around ₹1,500 per member and is aimed at frequent flyers, business travellers, families and regular commuters, the company said.
