The collaboration is aimed at reducing the manual work helicopter operators currently need to do when updating engine information after maintenance and shop visits.
Under the MoU, information from Safran engines will flow directly into the Maintenance Information System within Ramco Aviation Software.
This will include engine configuration, usage data and maintenance events, improving the accuracy and consistency of information used by operators to manage aircraft maintenance and airworthiness.
What changes for helicopter operators?
At present, engine information following a shop visit may have to be entered or updated manually in an operator’s maintenance system.
Ramco and Safran plan to build a technical link that allows this information to be loaded automatically into Ramco Aviation Software.
The companies will also establish processes to enable a reliable, continuous two-way flow of information between their systems.
For helicopter operators, this could mean less time spent entering and reconciling engine data and more accurate information for deciding when aircraft and engines need maintenance.The collaboration is expected to lead to Ramco receiving Safran’s EngineLife Connect label, which identifies connectivity solutions compatible with Safran’s products and services.
Safran gets access to better maintenance data
The integration will work in both directions. Ramco said Safran will be able to receive richer engine-maintenance information, while operators will receive information from the engine manufacturer directly in their systems.
“By integrating Safran Helicopter Engines’ data directly into our platform, we will enable operators to receive OEM information seamlessly, reduce manual effort, and enhance productivity,” said Sam Jacob, executive vice president and SBU head for aviation, aerospace and defence at Ramco Systems.
Ramco said its aviation software is used by more than 24,000 users to manage over 4,000 aircraft across more than 90 aviation organisations globally.
Ramco Systems shares closed 1.38% higher at ₹587 on September 3.
