Telugu star Ravi Teja basing on the success of his latest release, ‘Irumudi’ performing well at the box office upon its theatrical release on August 29. However, the family drama seems to have landed in controversy. As per the latest reports, the Andhra Pradesh Teachers’ Federation raised objections to some scenes in the film.
‘Irumudi’ faces controversy
According to a report by Gulte, the federation says that scenes show government schools and teachers in a negative way. APTF has asked the makers to remove the scenes and apologise to the teaching community. APTF State President Chennupati Manjula and General Secretary Basavalingarao issued a joint statement about the matter. The association said that films can have a strong effect on how people think about social issues. It said filmmakers should be careful when showing sensitive subjects involving the public.

According to APTF, the Shiva Nirvana directorial shows a government school teacher in a negative manner. The federation feels that such scenes can affect the image of government teachers and the public education system. The teachers’ association also raised concerns about the use of real details in the film.

According to APTF, the film names Zilla Parishad High School in Sileru, located in Alluri Sitharama Raju district. The association also claimed that the students in the scenes are shown wearing the same type of uniform used by government school students across Andhra Pradesh. The federation called these scenes demeaning and unnecessary. It has asked the filmmakers to remove all content that it believes defames government teachers and government schools.
