Razorpay has received the final Payment Service Provider (PSP) licence from the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) to operate from Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City), allowing it to facilitate cross-border money movement under the regulatory framework governing the international financial services hub.
The licence follows the in-principle approval granted to the fintech company in April 2026. It will enable Razorpay to support international collections, settlements, global investments and multi-currency transactions through its GIFT City-based infrastructure.
The company said it has completed banking integrations with RBL Bank and ICICI Bank, while integrations with investment platforms are expected to go live in the coming weeks.
Razorpay said its infrastructure will allow investment platforms to integrate with a single system to facilitate global investing for Indian residents. It also claimed that integration timelines, which typically take several months, could be reduced to two to three weeks.
The development comes amid rising overseas investment by Indian residents. According to data cited by Razorpay, Indians invested $2.65 billion in overseas stocks and debt in FY26, up 56% from the previous year.
Currently, platforms facilitating overseas investments need to coordinate with multiple banks, remittance partners and compliance systems, which can increase operational complexity and onboarding timelines.
Razorpay said its GIFT City infrastructure is designed to consolidate these processes while operating in line with the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) and applicable GIFT City regulations.
Commenting on the development, Rahul Kothari, Chief Operations Officer at Razorpay, said the licence would allow the company to facilitate foreign currency transactions, including holding funds in multi-currency accounts, and support cross-border financial flows.
The company said it plans to expand its GIFT City-based infrastructure across global investing, international collections and settlements.
