RVNL bags ₹968 crore railway bridge contract from East Coast Railway

RVNL bags ₹39-cr NMDC order for residential campus project in Hyderabad's Banjara Hills


Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL) said on Wednesday (June 17) it has received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from East Coast Railway for the construction of four major railway bridges as part of the third and fourth line project between Nergundi-Barang and the Khurda Road-Vizianagaram section.

The project involves the construction of important bridges over the Birupa, Mahanadi, Kathjori and Kuakhai rivers on an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) basis. The contract is valued at ₹967.93 crore, including 18% GST, according to the company’s regulatory filing on Tuesday.

RVNL said the project is to be executed within 1,095 days. The order has been awarded by East Coast Railway and is subject to general contract conditions.

In June this year, the company said it had received a letter of acceptance (LoA) from South East Central Railway for an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract valued at ₹221.33 crore in Chhattisgarh.

According to the company’s disclosure, the project involves the replacement of panel interlocking with electronic interlocking, installation of indoor and outdoor signalling equipment, OFC huts, construction and electrification of signalling and telecommunication (S&T) service buildings, and cabling works in adjoining block sections of stations under the Bilaspur division of South East Central Railway.

Q4 results

Navratna PSU under the Railway Ministry had reported a 58.9% year-on-year decline in consolidated net profit for the fourth quarter of FY26 to ₹187.1 crore, compared with ₹455.4 crore in the same period last year.

Revenue increased 4.2% year-on-year to ₹6,696 crore from ₹6,427.1 crore. EBITDA fell 38.4% to ₹268.5 crore from ₹436.1 crore a year earlier. The EBITDA margin shrank nearly 300 bps to 4% compared with 6.8% in the corresponding quarter last year.

Shares of Rail Vikas Nigam Limited closed 1.85% higher at ₹245.60 on the NSE on June 17.
