Solar Industries Q1 profit nearly doubles as defence business surges; order book tops ₹21,000 crore


Solar Industries India reported a sharp rise in first-quarter profit and revenue, driven by strong growth in its defence and international explosives businesses, as the company maintained its growth guidance for fiscal 2027.

Net profit rose 92.7% from a year earlier to ₹652.6 crore in the quarter ended June 30, from ₹338.7 crore. Revenue increased 71.2% to ₹3,688.2 crore from ₹2,154.5 crore.

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation, or EBITDA, rose 93.6% to ₹1,035.2 crore from ₹534.9 crore. EBITDA margin expanded to 28.1% from 24.8%.

Managing Director and Chief Executive Manish Nuwal said the company recorded its highest-ever quarterly revenue, EBITDA, profit before tax and net profit during the quarter.

Defence business grows 123%

Solar Industries’ defence business grew 123% from a year earlier, making it one of the key drivers of the company’s first-quarter performance.

The company said the business is being supported by an expanding portfolio of indigenously developed products and increased engagement with customers in India and overseas.

Nuwal said the company’s efforts to establish Solar Industries as a defence partner in India and globally are beginning to translate into tangible results.

The company’s overall order book stood at ₹21,350 crore, providing visibility on future revenue. Solar Industries said it expects to secure sizeable new orders in the coming quarters.

FY27 growth guidance maintained

Solar Industries maintained its growth outlook for fiscal 2027, saying it remains on track to achieve its ₹14,000 crore growth guidance.

The company said its strong start to the year, order book and planned investments support its growth expectations.

Solar Industries has earmarked ₹2,050 crore for capital expenditure in FY27, of which about ₹450 crore was deployed during the first quarter.

International explosives business jumps 65%

The company’s international explosives business grew 65% from a year earlier during the quarter.

Solar Industries said its order book, expanding market opportunities and ongoing investments should support its plans to build capabilities and expand its global footprint.

Shares of Solar Industries India closed 8.52% higher at ₹20,325 on Thursday, gaining ₹1,595 during the session.
