Under the partnership, Resona Bank will use Tata Capital’s network and knowledge of the Indian market to support its customers looking to enter India or expand their existing operations in the country. The two companies will also help connect businesses with potential partners and opportunities.
The agreement builds on an existing relationship between the two companies. Resona Bank has committed $20 million as a limited partner in Tata Capital Growth Fund III LP, which invests in Tata Capital Growth Fund III, managed by Tata Capital.
Tata Capital said the investment also strengthens the long-standing relationship its Growth Fund business has developed with Japanese institutional investors.
Rajiv Sabharwal, MD and CEO of Tata Capital, said the partnership brings together Tata Capital’s understanding of the Indian market and Resona Bank’s relationships with Japanese businesses.
He added that Tata Capital Growth Fund III will support companies seeking to benefit from India’s growth opportunities.
Mamoru Saito, Executive Officer at Resona Bank, said India is becoming increasingly important for Japanese companies across areas such as manufacturing, sales, procurement and research and development.
Under the collaboration, Resona Bank will use Tata Capital’s presence and financial services expertise in India to support Japanese customers evaluating opportunities in the country as well as companies that already have operations here.
The partnership comes as Japanese businesses increasingly look to India for growth across manufacturing, sales, sourcing and research and development.
Shares of Tata Capital were trading 0.04% lower at ₹364.90 on the NSE at 2:36 pm on August 24, 2026.
