Indian travellers visiting the UAE and Singapore can now use the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) to book tickets and make online payments at some of the popular tourist attractions. The facility is available for bookings at At the Top, Burj Khalifa, in Dubai and Resorts World Sentosa in Singapore.
NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL), the international arm of the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), announced partnerships to enable UPI payments for online bookings in the UAE and Singapore. The agreements were signed on July 29 for the UAE and September 9 for Singapore.

In the UAE, UPI payments have been enabled for At the Top, Burj Khalifa, through a partnership involving NEOPAY and Emaar Entertainment. The facility makes the attraction the first in the UAE to accept UPI for online transactions.
In Singapore, the service has been extended to Resorts World Sentosa in collaboration with FOMO Pay, a payment institution. Visitors can use UPI to book experiences at attractions within the destination, including Universal Studios Singapore, Singapore Oceanarium and Adventure Cove Waterpark.
The move is aimed at making it easier for Indian tourists to plan and pay for experiences abroad using familiar digital payment apps.

In Which Countries Is UPI Accepted?
According to the Ministry of Finance, UPI is currently accepted in 10 countries: Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, France, Mauritius, Nepal, Bhutan, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Cambodia and Greece.
Uzbekistan is expected to become the 11th country on the list following a commercial agreement announced in August during the Prime Minister’s visit to the country. India has also extended UPI-based ticket booking to the Eiffel Tower in France. The facility was introduced on January 26.
