Usha Martin Q1 net profit climbs 41% on strong EBITDA growth; revenue up 16%


Wire ropes manufacturer Usha Martin Ltd on Monday (July 27) reported a 40.7% year-on-year increase in net profit to ₹142 crore for the first quarter, compared with ₹101 crore in the corresponding period last year.

The company’s revenue rose 16.4% to ₹1,033 crore during the quarter from ₹887 crore in the year-ago period.

Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) increased 43.8% year-on-year to ₹208 crore from ₹145 crore. EBITDA margin improved to 20.1% in the June quarter from 16.3% in the same period last year.

Usha Martin is a leading global manufacturer of wire ropes with manufacturing facilities in Ranchi, Hoshiarpur, Dubai, Bangkok and the UK, where the company produces the widest range of wire ropes.

Shares of Usha Martin Ltd ended at ₹502.95, up by ₹7.70, or 1.55%, on the BSE.
