The Railway Board has clarified that a purported letter announcing a Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB) for eligible non-gazetted railway employees for the financial year 2025-26 is fake and was not issued by the board.
The Press Information Bureau’s (PIB) Fact Check unit flagged the document in a post on October 8, warning people against sharing or relying on the unverified communication.
The purported letter, which is being circulated on social media and messaging platforms, bears Railway Board Establishment (RBE) No. 101/2026 and is dated October 6.
It claims that eligible non-gazetted railway employees would receive a PLB equivalent to 78 days’ wages, with a payment of ₹41,149.
However, the Railway Board has clarified that the document is fabricated and unauthorised. The claims made in the purported letter should not be treated as an official bonus announcement.
The development comes as the purported communication has circulated among railway employees online. Employees and officials should verify bonus-related orders through the official Ministry of Railways or Railway Board channels rather than relying on documents shared through messaging platforms or social media.
PIB Fact Check has asked people not to share or rely on the fake document. Suspicious content related to the Central government can be reported to PIB Fact Check through WhatsApp at 8799711259 or by email at factcheck@pib.gov.in.
