“We had sought permission from the Delhi Police, but they did not grant it. So, we will hold the Mock Parliament at his house, at the president’s residence (Mallikarjun Kharge). Why can’t we do that? Gyanesh Kumar is a thief, and we will teach this thief a lesson,” she said.CPI(M) MP John Brittas called it ‘a reflection of the aspirations and wishes of the people that Gyanesh Kumar should leave office forthwith’.While talking to media, he said, “It’s not merely a mock impeachment; it’s a reflection of the aspirations and wishes of the people that Gyanesh Kumar should leave office forthwith. We had given notices—proper notices—to the Speaker and Rajya Sabha Chairman, signed by sufficient members of Parliament, but those notices were not entertained. So now we have no other way but to ensure that a symbolic impeachment session is held.“
