₹10,000 monthly SIP has turned to ₹1.73 crore in 22 years


A monthly SIP of ₹10,000 in Kotak Large & Midcap Fund since its inception in 2004 would have grown to ₹1.73 crore over 22 years, according to data shared by Kotak Mutual Fund. The total amount invested through the SIP over the period was ₹2.64 lakh, with the fund house reporting a CAGR of more than 14.79%.

The scheme, formerly known as Kotak Equity Opportunities Fund, has completed 22 years. Its lump-sum performance also shows the impact of long-term compounding.

A ₹10,000 investment made at inception would have grown to ₹3,44,736, assuming dividends under the income distribution cum capital withdrawal (IDCW) option were reinvested.

The fund house said the investment received IDCW of ₹35,540 over the period.

The fund has delivered a CAGR of more than 17% since inception, according to the fund house. However, past performance does not indicate future returns.

Kotak Large & Midcap Fund is an open-ended equity scheme investing in large-cap and mid-cap stocks. Its stated investment objective is to generate capital appreciation through a diversified portfolio of equity and equity-related securities.

The scheme’s Tier 1 benchmark is the Nifty Large Midcap 250 TRI. Its assets under management stood at ₹32,325 crore as of August 31, 2026, according to Kotak Mutual Fund. Harsha Upadhyaya, CIO – Equity at Kotak Mutual Fund, manages the scheme.As of July 31, 2026, banks accounted for more than 18% of the portfolio, while financials and pharmaceuticals each accounted for more than 7%, based on data shared by the fund house.

The SIP and lump-sum figures are based on the fund house’s stated investment assumptions and historical performance. Actual investor returns may differ depending on investment dates, market movements, expenses, taxes and the option selected.
