In a post on X on Thursday (July 2), the retirement fund body said member and employer services will now resume from 00:00 hrs on July 3, instead of the previously announced July 2 timeline.
“EPFO System Upgrade in Progress. Just a little wait for a better digital EPFO experience. Member and Employer services will resume on 3 July 2026, 00:00 Hrs. We deeply regret the inconvenience caused and appreciate your patience,” the organisation said.
In an important notice issued earlier, EPFO had said its online platforms were temporarily unavailable as part of a planned migration exercise aimed at improving service delivery, enhancing processing efficiency and strengthening the reliability of its digital claims processing system.
The maintenance exercise, which began on June 26, has now seen multiple deadline extensions.
Initially, the migration was scheduled to conclude on June 28, with services expected to resume from June 29. The restoration timeline was later pushed to July 1, followed by another extension to July 2. The latest announcement has now deferred the resumption of services to July 3.
During the outage period, members and employers remain unable to log in to the EPFO Member Interface and Employer Interface, effectively suspending all online services linked to the portals.
The disruption has also impacted services available through the Umang app, including PF balance checks, online claim filing, grievance registration, establishment search and applications for scheme certificates and Jeevan Pramaan certificates.
EPFO has maintained that the ongoing upgrade is necessary to provide subscribers with faster, more secure and more reliable digital services once the migration process is completed.
