AU Small Finance Bank Q1 net profit rises 37%, NII up 31.8%

WhiteOak’s Prashant Khemka stays bullish on healthcare, small NBFCs and manufacturing-led growth


AU Small Finance Bank reported its first quarter results on Saturday, July 25.

Its net profit increased 37% to ₹796 crore from ₹581 crore in the first quarter last fiscal.

Its net interest income (NII) was up 31.8% as well at ₹2,695.5 crore from ₹2,044.7 crore in the previous year.

The lender’s gross non-performing assets (NPA) came in at 2.1% from 2.03% last quarter. Meanwhile, its net NPA increased to 0.76% from 0.74% sequentially.

Its provisions were at ₹371.5 crore from ₹533.3 crore last year.

The bank’s board promoted Yogesh Jain as deputy CEO, with effect from July 25. It has set July 31 as the record date for its final dividend.

AU Small Finance Bank shares ended the previous session 3.5% up at ₹1,013.1 apiece. The stock has declined 2% in the past month but is up 1.4% this year, so far.
