The bonus is 16.25% higher than the ₹1,041 crore declared for FY25 and will benefit around 5.51 lakh participating policyholders, according to the company.
The bonus will apply to eligible participating policies that were in force as of March 31, 2026. PNB MetLife said the amount has been declared based on the performance of its participating fund during FY26.
The bonus covers several participating products, including PNB MetLife Century Plan, PNB MetLife Endowment Savings Plan Plus, PNB MetLife Super Saver Plan, Met Suvidha (Par), MetLife Endowment Savings Plan and Met Monthly Income Plan.
Participating policies allow policyholders to share in the profits of an insurer’s participating fund through bonuses, subject to the terms of the policy. The bonus is not necessarily paid as an immediate cash amount and may instead be added to the policy benefits, depending on the product and policy terms.
Sameer Bansal, Managing Director and CEO, PNB MetLife, said the bonus reflects the performance of the company’s participating funds and its approach to managing these policies over the long term.
The company has been operating in India for 25 years. According to the release, it has 185 offices and reaches customers in more than 20,000 locations through bank partnerships. It also has more than 40,000 financial advisers and serves over 585 group relationships.
