Stocks to BUY Today, September 1: The Indian stock market is expected to start on a slightly weaker note on Tuesday (September 1), as indicated by GIFT Nifty and negative sentiment across Asian markets.

As of 8:20 am IST, GIFT Nifty was trading slightly lower at 24,183. GIFT Nifty is a pre-market indicator for the Nifty 50 and often signals whether the benchmark index is likely to open higher, lower or flat based on global market cues. (GIFT Nifty Today)

Ahead of the trading session, SEBI-registered research analyst Kunal Bothra has recommended a few stocks that could potentially be bought or sold during Tuesday’s trading session.

Engineers India Share Price Target Today

Kunal Bothra has recommended a BUY call on Engineers India (EIL), with a target price of Rs 288 and a stop-loss at Rs 255.

Nykaa Share Price Target

Kunal Bothra has recommended a BUY call on FSN E-Commerce Ventures, or Nykaa, with a target price of Rs 348 and a stop-loss at Rs 332.

Asian Markets Today

Asian markets traded lower on Tuesday (September 1), with most major indices posting losses.

Japan’s Nikkei 225 was down around 0.4 per cent at 66,038. South Korea’s KOSPI traded about 0.8 per cent lower at 6,771.66, while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng was down 1.4 per cent at 25,265. Meanwhile, China’s Shanghai Composite ticked lower by 0.2 per cent at 3,979.78.

Stock Market on August 31

The broader sectoral picture remained weak on Monday (August 31), with most NSE sectoral indices ending in negative territory.

The 30-share BSE Sensex dropped 307.24 points, or 0.40 per cent, to settle at 76,957.27. Twenty of its constituents ended lower, while 10 closed with gains. During the day, it tanked 513.19 points, or 0.66 per cent, to 76,751.32.

The 50-share NSE Nifty dropped 95.25 points, or 0.39 per cent, to end at 24,080.40.

Among the 30 Sensex constituents, Adani Ports, ITC, Bharti Airtel, HDFC Bank, Infosys and Kotak Mahindra Bank were the major laggards. Sun Pharma, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank and State Bank of India were among the gainers.
Among Nifty 50 stocks, ICICI Bank, Grasim, Bajaj Auto, Mahindra & Mahindra, Reliance Industries and Maruti were among the top gainers. Adani Enterprises, Adani Ports, Eternal, Tata Steel and Hindalco were among the major losers.
