Over the course of his career, Suniel Shetty has invested in several properties; however, nothing has come close to his farmhouse, Jahaan, which is nestled in the greenery of Khandala. Serving as a connection to nature, his roots, and his need to be amidst the area’s greenery, Jahaan has become more than just a farmhouse; it is a haven away from the industry’s everyday hustle culture. Did you know that the 5-acre land where Jahaan resides was once nothing but barren dirt and soil? Here’s the story behind the ‘Hera Pheri’ actor’s beloved abode.

How did Suniel Shetty come across the barren land that he now calls his home?

When Shetty first came across the area, it was nothing but an empty ground with only a few trees, cactus plants, and rocks. However, a walk with his son brought him to the area in Khandala. During a video for Asian Paints that was done a couple of years ago, the Bollywood icon shared that it was a fateful vacation for Holi that he took with his wife, Mana Shetty, and some of their close family friends to a nearby house in the area. One morning, he was out with his son, and they came across the land. While looking back at the moment in the video, Shetty shared, “We all decided as a family that we’d come here for Holi. It was that evening when my son and I walked there and there were bare cacti all over, rocks, not a single tree, probably one or two trees that were there in the property that were there earlier.”He added that his son’s reaction made him wish to build a home there. He added, “We stood there, and our little boy, 20 years ago, probably held my finger and said, ‘You know, Papa, isn’t this place beautiful?’ and I came and told her (Mana) that ‘you know we saw this place, and I think we can build there,’ and so it was a sweet, successful.”Furthermore, Mana Shetty, the actor’s wife, shared that her father named the property Jahaan. They also revealed that since the house was being built on barren land, they had to plant their own trees in the area to make it greener. Over the course of 16 years, the couple planted multiple trees and all kinds of plants, and now the area is covered in almost 400 plants of all kinds.
