The company received BIS licences for cylindrical roller bearing (CRB) roller production at its new Bharuch plant, CRB production at the Bharuch facility, and tapered roller bearing (TRB) roller production at its Bharuch and Jamshedpur plants.
Timken India said it is the first company in India to obtain BIS licences for both CRB and TRB rollers across multiple manufacturing plants.
“Our teams have worked tirelessly to achieve this landmark recognition,” Chairman and Managing Director Sanjay Koul said. “Securing four BIS licences and being the first in India to obtain CRB and TRB roller licences across multiple plants underscores our commitment to the highest standards of quality, engineering and customer service.”
The company said the certifications will help customers source bearings that meet national standards, simplify procurement for regulated projects and improve operational reliability.
Timken India added that BIS-certified bearings are expected to reduce technical qualification barriers for OEMs, infrastructure projects and other regulated sectors, while certified manufacturing across plants will improve supply assurance and shorten lead times.
The company also said it will continue investing in testing, process controls and manufacturing capacity to meet growing demand for BIS-certified products.
Shares of Timken India Ltd ended 1.09% lower at ₹3,170 on the NSE on July 13, down ₹35 from the previous close.
