The service will initially be available in Bengaluru, where consumers can order HPCL’s recently launched HP Navya 10 kg composite LPG cylinder. According to the companies, this is the first time an LPG cylinder has been made available through a quick commerce platform.
Cylinders available for order
Consumers can order the 10 kg HP Navya composite LPG cylinder as well as HPCL’s 5 kg metal LPG cylinder through the Instamart app.
According to the companies, the HP Navya cylinder is lighter than conventional cylinders, corrosion-resistant and features a translucent body that allows users to check the remaining gas level.
The companies said customers do not need an existing domestic LPG connection to purchase these cylinders.
Ordering process
The first order will be treated as a new cylinder purchase. For subsequent refill orders, customers will be required to return the empty HPCL cylinder at the time of delivery.
The orders will be fulfilled through HPCL’s authorised distributor network and delivered by trained personnel in line with applicable safety and regulatory requirements. First-time purchases will require identity verification and proof-of-delivery documentation.
“Instamart has expanded its consumption use cases well beyond groceries to become part of everyday life. With HPCL, we’re extending that convenience to an essential household service, bringing LPG onto Instamart while maintaining the safety and reliability standards consumers expect,” Amitesh Jha, CEO of Instamart, said.
HPCL Director-Marketing Amit Garg said the launch is aimed at making LPG more accessible through a digitally enabled platform while maintaining the safety, trust and reliability associated with HP Gas.
